Listen before recommending
The right transaction begins with the dentist's goals, family, health, timing, and definition of a successful next chapter.
Meet your advisor
Dr. Jared A. Franson is a dentist, former multi-practice owner, educator, and transition advisor who helps dentists make ownership decisions with greater clarity and confidence.

From dentist to owner to advisor
"A lender can help determine whether a loan can be repaid. A dentist must still decide whether the opportunity fits the life they want to build."
Jared first saw the possibilities of dentistry as a teenager, when a trusted local dentist invited his youth group into the office. What stayed with him was not the dentistry itself, but the meaningful, balanced life that dentist had built. Jared earned his Doctor of Dental Medicine degree from Oregon Health & Science University in 2003.
His own ownership path included both a startup and acquisitions. He built a practice from scratch, later purchased an established three-operatory office, and eventually led a four-practice portfolio. Along the way he managed associates, teams, technology, financing, culture, patient relationships, and the difficult work of combining practices.
A practice-ending disability forced Jared to make an earlier transition than he had planned. That experience gave him a personal understanding of what sellers can carry into a transaction: identity, responsibility, uncertainty, and concern for the people they leave behind.
From 2014 through 2025, Jared worked as a dental practice transition advisor across the Pacific Northwest. He facilitated more than 100 practice sales and reviewed hundreds of additional practices through valuations, due diligence, and buyer and seller advisory work. He founded Dentist 2 Owner to offer dentists direct, education-first guidance shaped by firsthand experience rather than theory alone.
How Jared advises
Every recommendation begins with the individual dentist, not a predetermined transaction.
The right transaction begins with the dentist's goals, family, health, timing, and definition of a successful next chapter.
Collections and purchase price matter, but so do cash flow, patient trust, team stability, clinical mix, facilities, and risk.
A successful closing should also support the patients, team, seller, buyer, and community that give a practice its value.
Ownership should create opportunity without asking a dentist to ignore personal capacity, relationships, health, or long-term purpose.
Education and mentorship
Jared develops case-based education on practice ownership, valuation, due diligence, financing, leadership, and succession. His teaching draws on real decisions and real consequences so dentists can ask better questions before taking on risk.
